(19 Dec 2022) FLAIR is honoured to successfully co-host the 1st Academic Workshop of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)-Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) Joint Research Lab for Industrial AI and Robotic (INAIR Lab) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Clear Water Bay campus.
The workshop was kickstarted by welcoming speeches by Prof. ZHOU Xiaofang (Director of INAIR Lab, Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, HKUST), Prof. TSUNG Fugee (Associate Director of INAIR Lab, Acting Dean of Information Hub, HKUST (GZ)), and Prof. GE Ming (Co-director of INAIR Lab, General Manager of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Division of HKPC, Chief Operating Officer of FLAIR) consecutively.
Prof. Zhou delivered a warm welcome to participants and outlined the innovative vision of INAIR Lab. His speech was followed by Prof. Tsung who emphasized on the unique role of INAIR Lab which explores the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics across industries and its complementary nature as a collaborative research lab among HKUST, HKUST GZ campus together with industry partners. Prof. Ge looked very much forward to the brainstorming of the workshop as well as the cooperation in the 4 years to come.
During the workshop, project representatives shared updates on each of the selected research project followed by active discussion and technical knowledge exchange among the faculty, researchers, and students from INAIR Lab.
INAIR Lab aims to develop innovative industrial technologies that can address technical challenges faced by the manufacturers and provide practical solutions with the adoption of AI and robotics technology.
